ABOUT Miam-Miam Studio

Miam Miam Studio is the online portfolio of José Lopes Amaral, a Luso-Luxembourger visual creator and multidisciplinary designer with a rich and international creative journey.

José began his career in Window Display Design, earning his diploma in Luxembourg in 1996. Over the years, his path evolved across several creative fields — from visual merchandising and luxury retail display to photojournalism, documentary video, and graphic design. His work combines hands-on artistry with compelling storytelling, always grounded in strong visual intuition and purpose.

In 2014, he relocated to Taiwan, where he collaborated with a high-end interior design company, contributing to visual merchandising projects for global brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Miu Miu, Dunhill, and Prada. Later, he transitioned into journalistic photography and video, covering human rights and social issues across Asia, including the 2019 Hong Kong protests, which led to the publication of his photo book Hong Kong, In the Name of Democracy.

Alongside journalism, José worked as a visual content creator, collaborating with marketing teams from companies such as Global Eagle, Voodoo Cycles, and Lezyne, offering services in photography, video production, editing, layout, and design.

Today, through Miam Miam Studio, José is returning to his creative roots — refocusing on window display and retail visual design, while expanding into 3D concept development for shop interiors, exhibition booths, and experiential spaces. With his unique blend of practical experience and narrative-driven creativity, he aims to craft immersive and impactful visual environments that bridge design, emotion, and story.
